Man injured during NPP protest dies

A 61-year-old person who was injured during a National People’s Power (NPP) protest march in Colombo on Sunday, succumbed to his injuries yesterday, hospital sources said.   

The sources said Nimal Amarasiri (61) died while being treated at the Intensive care Unit (ICU) of the Colombo National Hospital.   

A spokesman for the hospital said another man who was injured during the protest was treated at the ICU.   
A total of 28 persons were injured during the protest march organized by the NPP on Sunday.
