Love triangle turns fatal, man stabbed to death

An individual who had been stabbed in his motorcar at Senanayake Mawatha in Nawala on Thursday night (18) died on admission to a private hospital in Narahenpita.   

Police said a young woman with him who received injuries in the incident was admitted to the hospital.   

The deceased, identified as Manoj Kumara (48), was a resident of the Gampaha area and the 23-year-old woman from Agalawatta area. During investigations, Welikada Police arrested on suspicion a 20-year-old man of Nebodapeella Mawatha in Matugama.   

Investigations revealed that the deceased and the suspect both had been in love with the woman and that a dispute among them had led to the killing.
