Justice Ministry brought under President’s purview

Colombo, August 7 (Daily Mirror)- The Ministerial portfolios of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms have been brought under the purview of the President through a Gazette Extraordinary issued by the President.

The Gazette Notification issued by the Secretary to the President Saman Ekanayake by order of the President stated that it was issued after having consulted with the Prime Minister under Article 44 (3) of the Constitution.

Former Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe resigned from his porfolio in order to contest the Presidential election 2024.
