Indian visas halted at IVS due to ‘security incident’

• The premises had been broken into last night and SL Police are investigating

The visa application centre of the Indian High Commission in Colombo has been closed until further notice due to a security incident reported on Tuesday night, the Indian High Commission said.  

All applicants have been requested to reschedule their appointments with IVS Pvt. Ltd.  

Visa applicants have been requested to contact the High Commission over the phone for any urgent consular or visa matter.  

Meanwhile, a spokesman said the premises had reportedly been broken into on tuesday night and Sri Lanka police are investigating.
