Daily Mirror shines at Journalism awards by winning 7 categories

Daily Mirror bagged a number of awards at the Journalism Awards of Excellence 2024, which was organised by the Editors’ Guild and Sri Lanka Press Institute yesterday. Daily Mirror Deputy Web Editor Chathuranga Pradeep bagged the Environment Reporter of the Year Award, while Nirmala Kannangara won the Investigative Journalist of the Year award. Nishele Fernando won the award for the Best Business and Financial Reporter of the Year, while Awantha Artigala was adjudged Best Cartoonist of the Year. M. S, M. Ayub bagged the B. A. Siriwardene Columnist of the Year. DM Online won the Merit Award for the best website. Kushan Pathiraja bagged the Merit Award for the best photo journalist of the year. Sunday Times, Daily Lankadeepa, Sunday Lankadeepa, Deshaya and Ada also won awards.
