Arjuna refutes reports of joining SJB

• MP Palani Digambaram invited me to the May Day rally in Talawakelle which was organized by his party

Former Sri Lankan cricket captain and former Minister Arjuna Ranatunga refuted reports that he had obtained membership of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) though he appeared in a May Day rally in Talawakelle which Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa had attended.  

“MP Palani Digambaram invited me to the May Day rally in Talawakelle which was organized by his party. It was not organised by the SJB. I have not joined the SJB,” he told the media.  

“However, I admire Premadasa as he has made an effort to eradicate corruption involved in Sri Lankan cricket. Premadasa spoke of corruption in cricket in Parliament several times,” he said.
