Prevent elephant deaths....

The Environmental Animal Organizations Coalition staged a protest today in front of the Sri Lanka Railway Department Headquarters against the continuous deaths of elephants due to train accidents. Protesters demanded legal action against the train driver involved in the recent incident where six elephants were killed between Gal Oya and Minneriya on the Batticaloa railway line. They also called for scientific measures to prevent such accidents in the future. Pix by Nisal Baduge
