Elephants of Kala Wewa

More than 200 elephants, in four herds, could be seen in the up-streams of Kala Wewa and Balalu Wewa during day and evening times, as pointed out by the villagers. The elephants are seen leisurely grazing grass close to Kala Wewa since the area is not being visited by the people for a long time. Pix by Kanchana Kumara Ariyadasa
