Sri Lankans witnessed the spectacular total lunar eclipse, known as the “Blood Moon,” last night. During the total eclipse, the Moon appeared in a striking deep-red hue. The eclipse began at 8.58 p.m. yesterday and ended at 2.25 a.m. this morning. The partial eclipse was visible in Sri Lanka from 9.57 p.m. to 1.26 a.m., while the total eclipse occurred between 11.01 p.m. and 12.21 a.m., when the Moon appeared almost black as the Earth passed directly between the Sun and the Moon.
