Army revamps 1,000 schools under ‘Clean Sri Lanka’

As part of the 'Clean Sri Lanka' initiative, the Army is actively supporting the renovation of 1,000 schools nationwide. Over 14,500 Army personnel have been deployed to assist with repairs and refurbishments under the supervision of the Security Forces Headquarters. 

Since its launch on 20 February 2025, the project has successfully renovated 496 schools by 17 March 2025, including roof repairs, painting, and fence reconstruction. Additionally, nearly 5,500 damaged desks and chairs have been repaired for continued use. The initiative continues with strong support from local communities, school staff, and parents.
