Sri Lankan healthtech startup Flash Health has raised a US$ 200,000 seed round led by nVentures, with participation of angel investors across Sri Lanka, Singapore, and the United States.

The funding marks a significant step for the company as it expands its footprint across insurers, large employers, and healthcare providers, positioning itself as one of the country’s most widely adopted digital platforms for everyday healthcare needs.

At the core of the startup’s offering is ‘Cashless OPD’, a service that allows employees and policyholders to access doctor consultations, medicines, diagnostics, and telemedicine services without paying out of pocket.

By removing upfront payments, the platform addresses a long-standing friction point in accessing outpatient care in emerging markets. This approach recently garnered global recognition when Cashless OPD won at the World Summit Awards, a UN-backed platform recognizing startups advancing Sustainable Development Goals.

The company’s growth has been largely driven by partnerships with leading insurance providers, including AIA, HNB Assurance, Janashakthi Insurance, and Union Assurance. These collaborations enable policyholders to access services such as medicine delivery, home lab testing, and wellness incentives through integrated digital workflows. On the enterprise front, the platform services organizations such as Akbar Brothers, Sri Lanka Cricket, SriLankan Airlines, and Hirdaramani, reinforcing its role as a partner for employee wellbeing. Commenting on the investment, nVentures Managing Partner Chalinda Abeykoon noted that the firm was struck by the Flash Health team’s ethos and attention to detail. “As we worked with the team to fine-tune their product roadmap and execution, we saw a team that listens, iterates, and delivers. Flash Health is now operating at real scale, which made this a clear investment decision for us,” Abeykoon stated.

Flash Health Founder Arshad Ameer emphasised that the company’s mission is to make healthcare feel human and effortless. “These partnerships reflect a shared belief that when we remove friction from healthcare, we improve health outcomes, quality of life, and peace of mind. We’re not just building a platform, we’re building a future where care reaches people, not the other way around,” Ameer said.

To address Sri Lanka’s ageing population and the rising demand for home-based care, the startup has also partnered with MediHelp Hospital to launch a Homecare Service, providing nursing, physiotherapy, and medical support directly to patients’ doorsteps. The platform’s utility was further highlighted during the recent floods caused by Cyclone Ditwah, where it activated a free Doctor Hotline, managed over 500 medical inquiries, and prioritized medicine delivery to flood-affected areas in coordination with the Sri Lanka Red Cross.

Flash Health plans to utilse the seed funding to deepen insurance integrations, expand Cashless OPD adoption across workplaces, and scale its medicine delivery and diagnostics operations nationwide.
