Tess Agro invests in tin can manufacturing plant to cater to local and export demand

Tess Agro PLC yesterday said it has invested in a tin can manufacturing plant on its factory premises on New Nuge Road, Kelaniya, to cater to the demand in the local and export markets.
The plant has the capacity to produce 80,000 cans per day. 
“The initial investment of this project amounted to Rs.79.2 million for the machinery and equipment. This will cater to the growing needs of the local as well as export market,” a stock market filing by the company said. The tin can stands out as an ideal, popular and versatile packaging option for various products, including fish, soft drinks, soups, spices, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and numerous other items. The Tess group is a diversified group of companies engaged in engineering, export of marine products, deep sea fishing and services and export of agricultural produce from Sri Lanka.
