September national tea sales average up US $ 0.06 from last month

The national tea sales average for the month of September 2024 recorded Rs.1,207.99 (US $ 4.04), showing an increase of Rs.19.50 and US $ 0.06, in comparison with the August 2024 average of Rs.1,188.49 (US $ 3.98).
In comparison to the September 2023 average of Rs.1,165.72 (US $ 3.63), it shows a positive variance of Rs.42.27 and US $ 0.41 year-on-year (YoY).
Looking at the elevation-wise analysis, the High Grown average for the month recorded a decrease of Rs.21.26 and US $ 0.08 month-on-month (MoM), whilst an increase of Rs.75.39 and US $ 0.49 is recorded YoY.
The Medium Grown average for the month recorded a positive variance of Rs.8.99 and US $ 0.02 MoM. In comparison to the corresponding month last year, it shows an increase of Rs.20.39 and US $ 0.30 YoY.
The Low Grown average for the month recorded an increase of Rs.26.01 and US $ 0.08 MoM, whilst the YoY average shows an increase of Rs.33.48 and US $ 0.40 in the corresponding month of 2023.
All regions recorded positive variances during the period January-September 2024 in comparison to the corresponding period of 2023 in the Sri Lankan rupee and US dollar terms.
