Dialog Axiata PLC reported a strong performance for the three months ended in September, led by the mobile operations, while the fixed telephony and broadband and television segments languished.
The company, the leader in mobile operations in the country, reported revenues of Rs.45.69 billion for the three months through September 2025, up 6.7 percent from the same period last year.
For the nine months ended in September, the telecom behemoth did revenues of Rs.133.11 billion, up by 6.2 percent from the corresponding period last year. The segmental information showed that the key mobile operations segment led the charge with nine-month revenues of Rs.102.45 billion, up 23.7 percent from the same period last year.
The fixed telephony and broadband segment reported revenues of Rs.20.99 billion, down 37.4 percent. The television business however increased its revenues by 6.9 percent to Rs.9.67 billion.
At operating level, the company did profits of Rs.10.53 billion for the quarter, up by a robust 62.0 percent from the same period last year.
For the nine months, the company did Rs.27.64 billion, up 138.6 percent.
Mobile operations brought in Rs.22.35 billion in operating profit for the nine months, up 165.7 percent from a year ago. The fixed telephony and broadband segment reported Rs.5.58 billion in operating profit, up 36.9 percent. The television segment cut losses to Rs.259.02 million, from losses of Rs.885.64 million in the same period in 2024.
Against this backdrop, the company reported earnings of 62 cents a share or Rs.5.69 billion for the July-September quarter, compared to 49 cents a share or Rs.4.49 billion in the same period in 2024.
The profits were somewhat weighed down by the net finance cost of Rs.3.54 billion for the quarter, up sharply from Rs.985.18 million a year ago, caused by the net foreign exchange losses, higher finance cost and lower finance income. For the nine months, the company reported earnings of Rs.1.62 a share or Rs.14.89 billion, compared to 66 cents a share or Rs.5.69 billion in the same period in 2024. Dialog share closed 1.59 percent lower at Rs.31.00 at yesterday’s trading.
