Malik meets Chinese, German dignitaries attending WEDF

Colombo is hosting the World Export Development Forum (WEDF) today and tomorrow. The International Trade Centre (ITC) and Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) are the hosts of this two-day global conference. Chinese Commerce Vice Minister Wang Shouwen, who is currently in Colombo for this event, met with Development Strategies and International Trade Minister Malik Samarawickrama and held discussions. 

A high-profile German Business delegation from the Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV) is also currently in Colombo to attend the WEDF and explore trade and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka. The delegation, headed by Honorary Consul Thomas Kriwat, met Samarawickrama and held discussions. This 11-member delegation consists of senior officials of the German-Asia-Pacific Business Association and some potential investors. German Ambassador Jorn Rhode was also present at this meeting.
