Suresh R. I. Perera, a prominent tax practitioner from KPMG Sri Lanka, has made history by becoming the first Sri Lankan to receive a regional tax award from the International Tax Review (ITR). At the ITR EMA & ASPAC Regional Awards 2024 ceremony held in London on September 18th, Perera was recognised as the Tax Practice Leader of the Year 2024 for the ASPAC region. Additionally, he was shortlisted for the Tax Litigation & Disputes Practice Leader award.   

Perera, a seasoned tax professional with over two decades of experience at KPMG, has consistently demonstrated exceptional expertise in various tax-related matters. His recognition as a regional leader underscores Sri Lanka’s growing prominence in the global tax landscape.
