Japanese firm PAG Investment Management assists HelpAge Sri Lanka

PAG Investment Management Ltd in Minato –Ku, Tokyo, Japan recently assisted HelpAge  Sri Lanka (HASL) to provide school books and educational  equipment to 112  flood affected underprivileged school children of Bollatawa  Junior School in Kosgama. This rural school is located in the Homagama Educational Zone.
The distribution was conducted under the guidance of the HelpAge Chairman Deshabandu Tilak de Zoysa , the Executive Director Samantha Liyanawaduge and a team of HelpAge employees. 
Accordingly, school, children received educational equipment including books, stationary items, school bags, shoes etc. Parents of the children also attended the ceremony.

School Principal W.R.Gunawardana thanked the PAG Investment Management company and its staff for making the donation considering the plight of school children who lost their educational equipment and the household goods due to floods which devastated many houses in the area.
He said, “These school children are coming from poor families and their parents are either cultivators or cattle and poultry farmers and majority of them have no proper monthly income. Therefore we thank HelpAge Sri Lanka for this worthy cause”.   
HASL, Youth Education Division Director Geethal Mendis highlighted the values of elders and pledged the children to keep them within their family circles during their twilight days without sending them to elders homes.
HASL, Executive Director Samantha Liyanawaduge said HelpAge Sri Lanka not only provide free eye care and other medical facilities to senior citizens in the country but also help even others at catastrophic situations in order to improve the quality of life of the Senior citizens in Sri Lanka.
Education Director H.Y. Nayana,  Finance Manager Sumedha Hastanayake,  Rights and  Advocacy  Advisor Lionel  Premachandra,  Monitoring and Evaluation officer Swarna Ekanayake and Communication Manager Ananda Kannangar were also present.
