Electric three-wheelers to be registered

The government yesterday said it would amend the country’s Motor Traffic Act to allow electric three-wheelers to be registered.

The Cabinet of Ministers this week approved changes to the law proposed by Mass Media, Transport and Highways Minister Bandula Gunawardane. Electric three-wheelers will be allowed to reduce usage of fossil fuels, the Government Information Department said.
