DFCC Bank has partnered with Abans Solar to launch a first-of-its-kind solar financing scheme aimed at accelerating the adoption of clean energy nationwide.

This strategic partnership introduces DFCC’s specialised solar loan, designed to make solar power more accessible to households and businesses while reinforcing Sri Lanka’s national renewable energy goals. With concessionary rates and flexible repayment options, the loan is structured to empower more Sri Lankans to embrace sustainable living without the burden of high upfront costs.

Eligible fixed-income earners can now access up to Rs.5 million in financing, with fixed interest rates starting from 10.5 percent for a term of five years and repayment terms extending up to 10 years. By lowering financial barriers, the scheme enables customers to significantly reduce electricity bills, generate long-term savings and contribute to a lower carbon footprint.

DFCC Bank Senior Vice President Retail Banking and SME Aasiri Iddamalgoda stated, “DFCC Bank has long championed the transition towards a greener economy and this partnership with Abans Solar takes that commitment to a new level. By making solar financing affordable and accessible, we are helping more Sri Lankan families unlock lasting savings while contributing to the nation’s renewable energy goals.”

Abans Deputy General Manager Energy Solutions Ashan Gunathilake commented, “At Abans Solar, we have always believed that renewable energy should be within reach of every Sri Lankan household. Our collaboration with DFCC Bank removes the financial barriers to adoption, enabling customers to enjoy the benefits of high-quality solar technology while reducing both their energy bills and environmental impact.”
