The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has announced a change in the composition of the S&P Sri Lanka 20 Index following the 2025 mid-year rebalance by S&P Dow Jones Indices. Central Finance Company PLC is set to be included in the index, while Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC will be removed.

The change will take effect on June 23, 2025, after the market closes on June 20, 2025. The S&P SL 20 index tracks the 20 largest companies listed on the CSE, selected based on total market capitalisation and meeting specific criteria for size, liquidity, and financial viability.

To be considered for inclusion, a company must have a minimum float-adjusted market capitalisation of Rs.500 million, a six-month median daily traded value of Rs. 0.25 million, and positive net income over the 12 months before the rebalancing date.  The index constituents are weighted by their float-adjusted market capitalisation, with a 15 percent cap on any single stock to prevent concentration.
