Brandix CEO clarifies

With reference to Mirror Business story titled “Lobby politicians but don’t trust them: Brandix boss” appeared on August 4, a statement from Brandix said Brandix CEO Ashroff Omar was quoted out of context in the said story.

The statement stressed that at no point had Omar said that politicians must not 
be trusted. 

“He did not use the word ‘trust’ at all in his comments. Omar’s exact words were: ‘We must lobby the politicians, but we must not rely only on the politicians….”

“The point he made was that the private sector must take the leadership instead of relying only on the government,” the statement noted.
