Upcountry vegetables short in supply

Upcountry vegetables were short in supply at the Peliyagoda wholesale market today (November 22) since the harvests dropped due to lack of fertilizer for cultivation. Vegetable growers in Nuwara-Eliya   protested   over the fertilizer issue even threatening to cut supplies to the market. The prices of   vegetables grown in the central highlands of Sri Lanka have increased beyond the means of ordinary consumers these days.
