Ven. Palitha Thera as Lanka Hospitals Ltd director

The Chennai Mahabodhi Society Deputy Secretary and Eksath Jathika Bikkhu Sangamaya Chief Secretary the Ven. Thinyawala Palitha Thera and Dilani Lokuhetti have been appointed as a Directors of Lanka Hospitals Ltd., which is currently owned by the Ministry of Finance.

Finance Ministry sources said they were appointed to the 13-member Board of Directors headed by Dr. Sarath Paranavithana.

Sources said the Thera is expected to play an advisory role while being in the board of directors.

He later confirmed to Daily mirror that he had been appointed to the post from February 12, 2015.

This is the first time ever that a clergyman had been appointed to the board of directors of a state institution. (Yohan Perera)
