Two foreigners arrested with heroin

Two foreign nationals were arrested by the Excise Department in Mount Lavinia yesterday for allegedly possessing heroin.

Police said the suspects from Malaysia and Maldives were arrested along with 10 grammes of heroin.

The Malaysian national was residing illegally in the country while the other suspect was on a student visa.

Police said they were produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate and remanded till July 17.(DS)
