Two Dubai nationals die in SL

A 22-year-old mother and her one and half year old child, both Dubai nationals died at a private hospital in Wattala early today, police said. The reasons for the deaths are yet to be known.

 The father who was also admitted the hospital is in critical condition. The family had arrived in Sri Lanka last evening from Dubai and had stayed in a hotel in Wattala area, before they were admitted to the hospital with sick condition.
 
Doctors suspect the reason for the death as food poisoning.

Meanwhile, Emirates 247 news agency said that the family was on holiday in Sri Lanka.

Quoting sources close to the family pointed as saying that the family hailed from the Wadi Kope valley in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
The source added: “The 24-year old husband is identified as Mohammad Ali Obaid Al Mazroui, and accompanied his wife and their only child to Sri Lanka only two days ago.

The source said the family in Ras Al Khaimah were informed about the incident by a telephone call made by the driver who was serving the family in Sri Lanka.

One website quoted a source as saying that the UAE embassy in Sri Lanka is following the investigation and UAE Ambassador Mahmoud Mohamed Al-Mahmoud has visited the husband.
Members of the family have travelled to Sri Lanka to transfer the bodies and help the husband.
