Three bodyguards assaulted

Three security personnel assigned to Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Kilinochchi Organiser has been reportedly assaulted by an unidentified group at Vairavapuliyankulama in Vavuniya last night.

Police said the security personnel had been at a hotel having dinner when the unidentified group had set upon them.

A 32-year-old security officer who was seriously injured in the attack had been admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital.

The SLFP organiser Naguleswaran Geethanjali had lodged a complaint to the Vavuniya police.
