Student drowns in swimming pool

A fifteen-year-old student of the Vavuniya National College had drowned last afternoon at the Jaffna Central College swimming pool, the Police said.
The victim was staying at the Jaffna Central College hostel due to an impending inter school dancing completion which was to be held in Jaffna. The student had decided to visit the Pool at around 1.00 PM on Saturday and had drowned thereafter.
