Strong winds in sea areas

The Meteorology Department today warned of strong winds increasing up to 80kmph accompanied with intermittent showers or thunder showers over deep and shallow sea areas.

The Department said showers or thunder showers will be expected over deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalm to Hambantota via Galle with southwesterly Winds of 30-40kmph which could increase up to 80kmph during thunder showers.

The deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalm to Hambantota via Galle will be very rough and dangerous during thunder showers.
