Another man arrested for harassing Wariyapola girl

A 17-year-old youth was arrested for having allegedly harassed the Wariyapola girl by attempting to pull her by the hand while at the Kurunegala bus terminus, the Kurunegala Police Headquarters said.

The complainant Thilini Imalka was earlier in the centre of an incident where she was alleged to have slapped a youth who had harassed her.

According to the latest complaint the youth had attempted to harass her while she was getting off the bus at the Kurunegala terminus yesterday evening.

The youth, who is a resident of Pollakkapitiya in Kurunegala, had also travelled in the same bus.

He was arrested on a complaint made by the young woman and would be produced in court shortly.

The Child and Women’s bureau of the Kurunegala Police Headquarters is conducting further investigations under the direction of Chief Inspector Samarasinghe. (Pushpakumara Jayarathna)
