Restraining order on IUBF and IUSF protest

Kaduwela Magistrate today issued a restraining order on the Inter University Bikkhu Federation (IUBF) and Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) preventing the entry of a protest march by them into the parliament road from Polduwa Junction, police said.

They said, according to the restraining order, the students would be allowed to march up to Polduwa.

Police said they had received information that the protest march by the IUBF and IUSF which began from Kandy a few days ago was scheduled to reach at the Parliament and stage a protest near parliament.

They said the restraining order would be handed over to the students when they reached at the Polduwa Junction.
