PC shoots himself on Valentines Day

A Police Constable attached to the Thalangama Police is set to have shot himself at around 6pm yesterday, Valentines’ Day, Police Spokesperson SP Ajith Rohana said.

Although initial reports said that it was due to an issue in relation to a lover, the police spokesperson refused to comment citing ongoing investigations.

The PC was sent on duty to the Battaramulla Police area at the time of the incident. He is now at the Colombo National Hospital and his condition is said to be critical. (Sumaiya Rizvi)
