‘Non-participants won’t be penalised’

The UNP said today that no action would be taken against parliamentarians who did not participate in Friday’s protest in Colombo Fort for genuine reasons.

UNP National Organiser Daya Gamage told journalists today that almost all MPs who were invited had taken part in the protest campaign.

Several political parties including the Democratic Peoples Front, New Left Front and Nawa Sihala Urumaya also participated in the protest.
