Mastermind detained by CID

The CID produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate a Captain of the Army who had allegedly masterminded the murder of Dr. Prasad Jayasinghe in front of his dispensary in Thalgashandiya Karandeniya on September 29.

The CID producing the suspect Captain Chandana Wickramasinghe before the Chief Magistrate submitted that the suspect had conspired and planned the killing of Dr. Prasad Jayasinghe on September 29.

They said investigations had revealed that the suspect had connived with Chinthaka Ruwan Jayasekera of Karandeniya to kill Dr. Jayasinghe and moved to detain the suspect with the CID to facilitate the investigations and to make possible the arrest of other suspects involved in the murder.
