Maithri,Lakthilaka seek special security

UNP Southern Provincial Councillor Maithri Gunaratne said he and Provincial Councillor Shiral Lakthilaka had requested for special police security from the Police Chief.

Mr.Gunaratne said they will meet the IGP this evening to discuss this matter.

He said they were attacked and fired upon the protest march held last Sunday in Matara in presence of the police.

“We were attacked and fired upon even when police personnel were present at the scene. It was my bodyguards who saved me. If the police cannot provide us with security, we have to seek special security”, he said.(Ajith.siriwardana)
