Kaduwela Mayor files lawsuit against Wimal

Kaduwela Municipal Council Mayor G. H. Buddhadasa today filed a lawsuit against National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader and Minister Wimal Weerawansa and NFF General Secretary claiming Rs.50 million as damages for allegedly unveiling a publication with defamatory remarks on the Mayor.

Filling a case at the Colombo District Court Mayor Buddhadasa alleged a publication called ‘Panchayudha’ launched at the second national convention of the NFF had included defamatory remarks against the plaintiff. (Lakmaal Sooriyagoda)
