Govt. won't stop Mahapola schol., Johnston says

The Government will never stop the Mahapola scholarships, Minister of Trade Johnston Fernando said dismissing claims by United National Party MP Sajith Premadasa.

“We will never stop the Mahapola. How can Sajith Premadasa say that we will stop the Mahapola?” Minister Fernando said a short while ago.

The Minister went on to challenge Mr. Premadasa to show material proof to back his allegations.

It is reported that Mr. Premadasa at public rallies made this comment and alleged that the money necessary for the Mahapola wasn’t allocated in the budget. (Sumaiya Rizvi)
