Get ready for big rains

Showers with thunder and lightning with strong winds is expected in the country due an atmospheric disturbance, the Meteorological Department said today.

“There is a progression of these atmospheric disturbances since we are entering the inter monsoon period. The island could expect showers in the evening throughout the island and especially in coastal areas of the south and the west,” Director General of the Meteorology Department S. Kariyawasam told Daily Mirror Online.

Kariyawasam said that the entire country could experience rain in the evenings, during the next few days.
