Two female army deserters allegedly disguised as men and working as domestic aides in two homes in Ahangama were arrested by the Ahangama Police on Saturday morning.

Ahangama Police OIC Asoka Waidyaratne said the two women – both aged 22 - were residents of Dikwella and Kananka.

He said the two women had been serving in the Army for two years before they deserted.

The suspects were handed over to the Trincomalee Women Army Deserters’ camp this morning for further investigations. (Sanath Desmond)
