Court order taken for funeral: Police

The police have obtained a court order from the Chilaw Magistrate for the funeral of fisherman Anthony Fernando who succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday during clashes, which is to be held today.

The court order says, "The body cannot be used for any propaganda or for any violent activity," Police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said. 
 
Police have also deployed 1,500 policemen to assist the Army and the elite Special Task Force (STF) in maintaining law and order in the area today. (SD)
