23 arrested for dumping garbage in Kelani River

About 23 people including 13 women were arrested by the police for dumping garbage into the Kelani River and Bolgoda Reservoir last night, Police said.

The arrests were made during a raid conducted by the police personnel attached to the Police Naval Units in Peliyagoda, Kospelana and Moratumodara.  The suspect were residents of Peliyagoda and Moratuwa. They were handed over to the Peliyagoda and Moratuwa police stations for further investigations.
