Another Ethanol stock recovered

More than 74, 000 litres of Ethanol worth Rs. 82 million were taken into custody by the Customs officials at the Orugodawatte container yard this morning, customs media spokesman Lesly Gamini said.

Mr. Gamini said 224 barrels of Ethanol were recovered from 392 barrels which had been imported by a private firm declared as tar.

The government had lost a tax income of Rs. 112 million due to the fraud, Mr. Gamini said.
