Youth less interested not due to mythical belief but waiting for Pfizer: Dr. Jayatissa

Youth aged between 20 and 30 have shown a less interest in getting their vaccination not because of mythical beliefs such as sexual dysfunction but they are waiting for the Pfizer vaccine, Former JVP MP Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

He told a webinar organised by the National peoples’ Power (NPP) that there has been a huge demand for Pfizer vaccine.

He said the Government did not heed to recommendations and guidance of the experts in providing Pfizer vaccine and added that it was done solely on political needs.

“Administering of the Pfizer vaccine was not done on the advice of the virology experts. Who should receive the Pfizer vaccine was decided by the political authority not by the experts, Dr. Jayatissa said. (Ajith Siriwardana)
