Woman involved in human trafficking to Dubai, Oman surrenders

In the wake of the arrest of two suspects linked to the human trafficking to Dubai and Oman, a 49-year-old woman surrendered to the CID this morning for alleged involvement to the malicious racket.

Police said the woman surrendered to the CID through a lawyer this morning.

The CID arrested the main suspect wanted over the trafficking on Saturday at the BIA  while a 45-year old local agent (broker) of the main suspect was also apprehended in Colombo recently.

The Human trafficking, smuggling and Maritime Crimes Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigations Department is conducting further investigation into the racket.(DSB)
