Wijeyadasa delays gazette on 22nd amendment

Colombo, July 18 - Ahead of the Presidential election, Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has directed Secretary to the Ministry of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms to withhold the publication of the Gazette notification concerning the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution. 

This decision, according to the minister, is aimed at averting uncertainty surrounding the upcoming Presidential Election.

The Cabinet recently approved the bill in relation to the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution.
