We don’t get away from investigations: Namal

Expressing that they would not get away from investigations over the attack on 'GotaGoGama, former Minister Namal Rajapaksa said today they would offer full support to the investigations.

He told Parliament that all those, who were named by the CID in connection with the incident, have surrendered or given statements as requested by the CID.

He said the law should be implemented against those involved in acts of arson and murder irrepective of party politics and added that if that was not so, law and order and society would be in jeopardy.

He said there were two groups behind the violent incidents, namely the organised groups who steered acts of violence with political objectives and the youth who participated in the incidents after being influenced.

"Law should be implemented against those who steered the attacks and acts of arson while the youth that participated in the attacks after being influenced should be rehabilitated," he said. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
