Was misled by senior police officers: OIC CCD

Colombo, June 11 (Daily Mirror) - OIC Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) Anselm de Silva said today that he and the others who went to look into the Weligama incident in 2023 were misled by senior police officers. 

De Silva made this comment while testifying before the commission which is probing the allegations against Deshabandu Tennekoon this afternoon. 

"We were asked to publicise that a third party shot at our vehicle, though it was done by the Weligama police," he added blaming the CCD Director for misleading him and the other police officers
