Veteran Actress Malini Fonseka passes away

Veteran actress Malini Fonseka, who had become a household name in Sri Lanka, passed away at the age of 78.

She died while receiving treatment in a private hospital.

Malini acted in movies such as Eya Den Loku Lamek, Apeksha, Thushara, Selvem, Utpalawarana, and Isthri. She also starred in the Tamil movie Pilot Premnath along with famous South Indian actor Sivaji Ganesan.

Malini also acted in a few teledramas, including Nirupamala which was telecast in the 1980s.

She had a short stint in politics as well and was a national list MP from 2010 to 2015.
