Vaccinating children from 15 to 19: Final decision likely this week

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is likely to issue the relevant directive within this week in connection with vaccinating children belong to 15-19 age group, Army Commander Shavendra Silva said.

As such, the Army chief said the President would instruct as to how the vaccination drive for the said age group should be conducted.

The vaccination drive for the children with congenital diseases and disabilities is currently underway and they are administered with Pfizer.

According to health officials, no child has been reported with severe post-vaccination complications after being given the doses. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
