Upcountry train services distrupted

Mounds of earth had one crashing down on the railway line between Diyatalawa and Bandarawela railway stations as well as between Ohia and Idalgashinna stations on the upcountry railway line today, the Railway Department said.

The officers and railway department workers are working round the clock to remove the fallen earth and rocks between Bandarawela and Diyathalawa to clear the tracks to resume operations.

It was reported that clearing the mounds of earth between  Idalgashinna and Ohia stations will take a few more hours. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
