Two nabbed; 22 escape during Facebook party raid

Two individuals have been arrested and twenty-two others have fled during a raid on a party organised through Facebook at a house in Rambawewa in Kurunegala.

The arrestees were the organiser of the party and the individual who provided music to the party, police said.

Police said there had been 24 attendees at the party and twenty-two of them had escaped when the police arrived at the scene.

Some empty liquor bottles, beer bottles and Rs. 175,000 in cash have been taken into police custody.

The escapees have been identified and investigations are underway to arrest them, police said.(Athula P. Bandaranayake)
